Bio
Kate Koenig is a very hungry experimental-folk caterpillar who eats Fleet Foxes’ progressivism and Kate Bush’s iconoclasticism and Jeff Buckley’s zeal and Nick Drake’s disenchantment, and is still eating while you read this bio. They are also a fierce advocate for mental health awareness, which comes out in the deeply personal, introspective theater of their music.
Now based in Portland, Maine, they’ve played at NYC’s Mercury Lounge, Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2, Pianos, Berlin Under A, and Pete’s Candy Store. They have been featured in Acoustic Guitar and Glide magazines, and on the That Eric Alper Show on SiriusXM on a lineup that included Marianne Faithfull.
As of 2025, they have released five full-length albums: Haircuts for Barbers, Etemenanki, Immortal Rhythm, Zephyrs, and Creature Comforts. All can be found on all streaming platforms.
